PSTAR Study Course

Our unique course designed to help students pass the PSTAR Exam which is required prior to being issued a Student Pilot Permit. Our course will help you pass your exam with the minimum 90% pass mark. Video lectures, learning activities, and sample exams with real PSTAR exam questions will ensure you pass the first time.

The PSTAR study course is included with purchase of a Private Pilot Ground School Course.

How do I prepare for PSTAR?

By using our course full of all 200 PSTAR questions. Our FREE online PSTAR course includes videos which explain each question in-depth and show you the practical application of what is being asked.

How hard is the P STAR exam?

The PSTAR test is considered a test of memorization, which we think is pretty sad. Our PSTAR course shows you the practical application of each topic so you aren’t just memorizing the material. If you are able to train and apply the knowledge we teach you, the exam will be pretty easy. If you approach the exam and something to just memorize and get over with, you’ll have a hard time with it.

Where can I write my PSTAR?

You must write your PSTAR at a flight school authorized to conduct it, or at a Transport Canada location. No one can administer the exam online, it must be done in person.

Is the P STAR Course up to date?

Our online pilot course covering the PSTAR is based on the February 2021 PSTAR Study Guide published by Transport Canada. Our material meets and exceeds the outlined study guide.

What do I need for a student pilot permit?

In addition to writing this exam at a flight school, you will also need a Category 4, 3, or 1 medical. We have a blog post explaining the best way to get a Transport Canada aviation medical. Once you have both of these, you can apply for a Student Pilot Permit at Transport Canada or with an authorized person at your flight school. You will need to provide proof of citizenship and you may be required to pay a flight school fee.

Do you have a PSTAR App?

Our website is so user friendly, we don’t need any type of Android or Apple app. Just log in, watch the videos, read the material, do the P STAR practice test and you’ll be more than fine.

Do I need to do my Radio Operator’s Certificate before I do my exam?

No. The ROC-A certificate isn’t required to be completed at all for a student pilot permit to be issued. It is required for you to operate the radio in your training aircraft. We conduct ROC-A exams for any and all candidates in Canada online as per ISED’s guidance.

We talk helicopter wake turbulence in our PSTAR course.
